About Us, Campaign 2004, Drowsy Driving, Sleep Deprivation, Teen Driving, Shift Workers, Narcolepsy, Obstructive Sleep Apnea, Restless Legs, Full Disclaimer |
Teens need 9 hours of sleep every night. They are lucky if they get 6 hours of sleep. This makes them chronically sleepy during daytime. This affects their performance. This puts them at increased risk for fatal crashes.
I believe that it is the chronic sleep deprivation that makes our teens grumpy, inattentive, argumentative, and unreceptive. Chronic sleep deprivation has also been been shown to promote high risk injurious behavior.
We are glad that younger drivers (Priyata Patel, Maggie Baldridge, Hannah Roth, Anie Martens, and others) from Bethany Christian Schools, Goshen have joined our campaign.
